It might be among the smallest countries on the continent and one of Africa's remaining monarchies, but there's more than novelty value on offer here. You can almost feel South Africa's undercurrents of tension fade away when you cross the border into friendly, easy-going "Little Kingdom", making it a relaxing stopover on the trip between Mozambique and South Africa. And it's surprising how much there is to do here - the royal ceremonies, excellent wildlife reserves and superb scenery should be more than enough reason to come.
My wife Lolah and I after visiting the Game Reserves of Natal would always look forward to crossing the border and visiting two of the largest cities Mancini and Mbabane Then staying one two or three days depending on our time availability to enjoy the activities, game viewing hiking, golf and of course the night life! The same if we came via Kruger Park which ever way we came didn't matter always a treat to head for our stay at the Royal Swazi Spa Hotel, Swazi Inn or where ever there was a vacancy! This is a fabulous sleep over spot to see what this the kingdom has to offer you which there is plenty.
You can participate in a number of activities such as Bird Watching,Game Viewing,Hiking, Golf, Horse Riding and more. There are Spas, Swimming and as I mentioned Nightlife at the Casinos! The kingdom is served by excellent transport links with Matsapha Airport and Rail Station. Air Link has regular flights to Johannesburg for connecting international flights
I recommend you make it part of your holiday. Here you can relax and let the world go bye and have the hospitality of the people see the beautiful scenery and come face to face with the wildlife! May be attend one or both of the biggest ceremonies The "Incwala" which takes place in December and the Reed Dance "Umhlanga" in August for five days!
